Consumer Advocacy World Right Event Report

Last Updated on Friday, 03 May 2013 07:05

The World Right Consumer Day (WRCD) is an annual event celebrated all over the world by Consumer Organizations on every 15th March with the purpose of sensitizing consumers with their basic rights and their responsibilities.

WCRD was established in 1983 to promote the basic rights of consumers worldwide. On the day, the global consumer movement unites around a common theme to deliver an exciting array of campaigning activities. The theme for this year’s celebration is “Consumer Justice Now”.
As a member of Consumer International, the Consumer Advocacy Centre Ghana (CACG) marked this year’s WCRD by organizing a joint symposium with Pravda Radio, a pro consumer oriented radio station in Ghana. The occasion was highly patronized by members of general public including students from public

universities in Accra.
